Make sure you pay on your student loans every month. That account can really drag your credit score down if you pay late or don't pay at all.

If you have old accounts that you can't pay, don't promise to pay it. For example, if your car was repo or your house, and it is a large sum of money the bank or debt collections are asking for, simply tell them you don't have it. Make an arrangement to pay what you can comfortably. If your car was 15,000 offer to pay half of that in comfortable monthly payments in exchange for them to erase that debt off of your credit. It's okay to settle and make arrangements.

Are We Trying To Build Our Credit???
I have been fixing my credit so that I can buy a house. Somethings that have boosted my credit is paying ahead of time and beating the interest.  I do this on my car and with my credit cards and loans.  I had three loans, I have paid two of them off and I decided not to reopen them.  I had two credit cards, I paid off one and kept one open.  I purchase gas with it and I pay the balance off each month before the payment due date.  This way you have no late payments and you are not paying any extra money by beating the interest.  You can also do this with a furniture purchase.  Lets say you have no credit at all and you want to build or establish some. buy a small table or lamp from a furniture place and make weekly payments and pay it off before the due date.  you can also do this with a secured credit card. get a 200$ or 300$ secured credit card with a credit union. Then pay off your balance every month before your bill is due or make weekly payments or payments every time you get paid.

FYI everybody is going to purchase their car with their income tax... If you know basic economics, think "supply and demand"!  The car dealers know this. The prices will be higher and they are going to want a down payment. A wise woman once told me "work smarter not harder".  In this case, if it were me I would hold out just a little bit longer, to when I know the car dealers need to sell cars, but no one is buying them...
You also do not really need a down payment on a car. Car dealer and salesmen/women will tell you different reasons why you need one, but it is bogus. You have to really put up a fight for what you want. At the end of the day it is really them that need you to buy their product... If you are going to spend your money, you might as well walk away with a great deal and be happy about what you just spent your hard earned cash on! Don't be a push over, Don't settle, and Don't find yourself making payments on a car you can't even drive 3 to 5 months after your purchase!
I know some people really feeling like they got to get into a car and I know that feeling. It sucks! 😒 Some thing yo could do instead of rushing into a bad situation is to wait. Build good credit. Gain stability and time at your job. Gain some more income. You could also start searching your friends and family for a good, trust worthy co-signer. Most people are desperate and will buy cash cars. Cash cars are used and most times have no warranty. That is a no no! Go for a new car with a warranty.  And one of the best car buying tips someone gave to me is t buy at the end of the month. I was told that dealers have to push out the old inventory so they are more willing to work with you and get you into the car that you want. Good luck friends!😉
